UELN (Unique Equine Life Number)

UELNs issued by Canadian Studbooks or Breed Societies will start with the number 124

The UELN is a 15-digit number, which identifies the country of birth and the issuing studbook or breed society when issuing an equine passport. Typically for Canadian horses, this will start with the number "124". The following three numbers will identify the Breed Society or Studbook that issued the UELN.

Breed Society or Studbook Membership Numbers

These numbers will be issued by the Breed Society or Studbook. These numbers are typically written under your horse's Lineage certificate or on any documentation you might have from these organisations.

If you have a breed society or studbook membership number for your horse, you can enter it and then select the breed society or studbook from the list provided.

Microchip Number

Microchip numbers are issued when your horse has had a microchip implanted. You can access this number by scanning the horse's neck or nose area with a microchip scanner. You may also have documentation telling informing you of the microchip Number.

Temporary ID (Digital ID) Number

This number will be issued to you when you add your horse to the Digital Stable. The details will be sent to you by Equine Register. You can also see this number in your Digital Stable account.
